Smarter Kids Learning Center

When it comes to child care, Smarter Kids Child Care Learning Center is one of the best you can find.

Owner Carolyn Jones always wanted to work with "little people," but her career took her up the corporate ladder to executive positions. They paid well, but didn’t really fulfil her dream of working with and teaching children.

Then things fell into place…her retirement and the opportunity to own a day care. After 5 years in the business, Carolyn found a new location where she could provide even more children with the opportunity to learn and be cared for.

"My goal was to have a daycare center that was affordable for working class people," she said. "Kids should be learning. We teach them to the Cobb standards, so they know what they should before they go to kindergarten."

Rates are very affordable at $110 a week for 4 weeks to 14 months of age; $85 a week for toddlers to 4 years of age; and $45 a week for after school care.

"Parents want to feel they are leaving their child with someone who will care about their kids. We hire only people who genuinely enjoy children, and train them to meet our standards," Carolyn explained.

The web site offers much information about the center, including a list of teachers, curriculums, and more.

Carolyn’s number one concern is for the safety of the children in their care. Second is about loving and teaching them. Her mission is to provide a safe, caring, and affordable learning experience in an early childhood setting that will support a lifelong love of learning and successful interaction with others.

As a goal for the center, she wants to deliver the best and most affordable early childhood education and child care services to a population that might not otherwise be able to afford quality child care.

Smarter Kids offers a lot of in-house field trips, where the entertainment comes to them, such as puppet shows. This prevents the need to take young children out in the bus. During the summer, the school only transports children 6 years of age and older on outside field trips. During the school year, the center only transports children to and from school.

The center is located in a two story building at 945 Windy Hill Rd. Smarter Kids occupies both floors (the entire building), and has classrooms for each age group. The interior has been beautifully designed in bright colors. The outdoor playground is always kept nice and clean. Come by and see for yourself!

The first year she had 20 students and the dance floor was just two pieces of plywood placed on the floor. The next year, when her attendance doubled to 40, she knew she needed to lease space and establish a dance studio. Becky Jones School of Dance has been...
