Sign Business Is Good

Print PDF

DelucaThere is life after Home Depot. Louis DeLuca left Home Depot after 25 years of managing projects on a massive scale. He was instrumental in the opening of many of Home Depots stores as they grew across the nation...and the world.

Four years ago, Louis and Debbie (his wife) opened Marietta Signs. It was an opportunity for Louis to use all of his management and technical skills in his very own business. Each sign job is a project, large or small. Louis knows how to handle projects with ease.

He keeps up with technology and makes it work for him. He uses a laptop that allows him to communicate with the office at all times. When he pencils in something on the schedule, it appears on the monitors at the office for everyone to see.

On a survey, he actually draws a diagram of what the sign will look like and shows it to the client on-site. Then he transmits that to the office, where it is designed as he has instructed. A team member at the office transmits a proof back for Louis to show the customer while he is still on-site.

After 2 years in the sign business, Louis and Debbie bought Instant Signs & Banners, a 25 year-old business. It was a perfect fit. Large signs, such as building signs, are long term projects. From survey and order to installation may take months, depending upon the builder. But Instant Signs & Banners business is generally done in short projects. The new business seems to level out the peaks and valleys of the original Marietta Signs business.

Marietta Signs is a member of several local and national sign organizations, which allows them to conduct business on a national level, using a member company to implement in non-local areas.

Louis is a straight shooter, who is willing to tell clients what they need to hear, not just what they want to hear. Sometimes a client is not looking at it from their customers’ prospective, but Louis consults with them to make sure the signs convey the message the client intends to send.
